Republican Presidential frontrunner Mitt Romney's campaign took an opening from an ill-conceived remark by Democratic strategist Hilary Rosen in which she said Ann Romney “hadn't worked a day in her life.” But in 1994, Romney himself nodded to the changed times, saying “this is a different world than it was in the 1960s when I was growing up, when you used to be able to have mom at home and dad at work. Now mom and dad both have to work.”
